Re-do???

Is thinking about redoing chapter 1.  I've been reading up on writing and what you should and shouldn't include in the first chapter.  Will be working on that tonight, then I will post the changes and delete the original.  One thing this has done is renewed my love of reading.  Everything I've looked at regarding writing says that you should read different types of books so I've been making regular visits to the library and reading some authors I've never read before.  So tell me, what authors do you like?  Who would you recommend?
